Emily the Strange- Stranger and Stranger

Emily the strange is a mad scientist, a cat lover, a mural painter, a golem builder, a virtuo spastic guitarist, a wicked skater, a wily troublemaker, a poltergeist tamer, a mystery solver, a master prankster, an eXtreme procrastinator, a happy loner, a unique individual- and now there are two off her!
Emily the Strange doesn't seem like the best book by looking at the title but when you read this at the back of it - WOW!! Immediately your whole perspective changes! You don’t think of it as a normal book anymore. You think of it as a quirky and different book! When you open it , it fails to disappoint.....

The book is written in form of a diary. With quirky, funny pictures and interesting comments. The story-line is completely impossible as in the likeliness of any of this happening but is still warping your thoughts into a different way of thinking. It is unputdownable and a brilliant read! Emily is smart, intelligent and everything else! And so are the people who put her together! Rob Reger and Jessica Gruner are complete geniuses! Amazing and funny illustrations, great story line and a great read for elevens and over!

The Tiger in the Well -by Philip Pullman -captivating,interesting or just pure brilliant?

The Tiger in the Well- the third book in the Sally Lockhart mystery quartet.

This book was first published in 1991 and then published again in 2007. The book is set in England in and around the 19th century. The book quickly leads you to the dilemma and then sucks you straight in. It really in my view shows the extent of which a mother will go through to save her child. All and all that sounds mildly interesting but the book is not all that straight forward. As of the others. I found this one the most interesting of the quartet. Because it really sucks you into the story, the setting and the dilemma. The other books are also captivating but this one for me really shines through the rest. The characters are dim in the first book but then build up through the stories.
Philip Pullman really knows how to start a story right and end it to lead up to the next one.
The Ruby in the Smoke, The Shadow in the North, The Tiger in the Well and The Tin Princess are truly Brilliant! And leads to an exciting and unexpected read! And is highly recommended by me!
