The Tiger in the Well- the third book in the Sally Lockhart mystery quartet.
This book was first published in 1991 and then published again in 2007. The book is set in England in and around the 19th century. The book quickly leads you to the dilemma and then sucks you straight in. It really in my view shows the extent of which a mother will go through to save her child. All and all that sounds mildly interesting but the book is not all that straight forward. As of the others. I found this one the most interesting of the quartet. Because it really sucks you into the story, the setting and the dilemma. The other books are also captivating but this one for me really shines through the rest. The characters are dim in the first book but then build up through the stories.
Philip Pullman really knows how to start a story right and end it to lead up to the next one.
The Ruby in the Smoke, The Shadow in the North, The Tiger in the Well and The Tin Princess are truly Brilliant! And leads to an exciting and unexpected read! And is highly recommended by me!
