Politics , the 11 year old girls view

Politics, Politics.
Where do I began. Well lets start by me saying politics sucks.
Now that I have got that out of the way, let me begin.

Over the past few days politics has been a hot topic. I have endured listening to the radio to find out what is going on. Bailout is the main word featured in these broadcasts. Apart from money and Brian Cowen. I know this is all terrible stuff but I say move on if we have no other option.
I say this for two reasons one there is no point and two I am sick of hearing about it.

As I mentioned earlier I think politics sucks.
I looked politics up in the dictionary and it basically means sorting out stuff, fairly.
Well what Ireland is missing is the fairness.
If someone from the Daul ever reads this let them know that they are getting away with nothing. If an 11 year old girl knows, everyone knows.

Snow- the dream and the reality

Snow
Last night, I was at a friend of mine house. We were watching a movie and I went to get myself a drink and I looked outside. It was snowing! We all got dressed up warm and we trudged out into the snow. It was beautiful. It was completely covering the ground in all areas. We looked up at the snow falling into our faces and tongues. It was a dream.

This morning I woke up and looked out my window. It was really bright and there was snow. I rushed up to the kitchen. I wrapped up warmly,as before. I trudged about before I could stand the cold no more. A bit annoyed, I came back in and took off my boots and rushed to the radiator. Now the reality hit me, it was going to be the exact same as last year.

Last year, we had the snow, the snowball fights, the snowman but we also had the frozen pipes which means no water, we had heating bills and we were trapped, we couldn't move about without risking danger.

Let us hope that this year is going to be more similar to a dream than to a reality.

Kerry Film Festival

Today I attended the Kerry film festivals main event.
I attended with Orla Diffily and we both thoroughly enjoyed it.

One of the main stars attending were Maureen O'Hara and Juliet Binoche.
I myself saw Juliet Binoche on "The late late show". She did not seem that into it.She did not even know what she was doing in Kerry.
Yet today she did know what she was doing and she seemed very emotional. Her speech was very touching and I really think she lived up to my expectations.
I have seen her movie, Chocolate. The sweet, emotional and caring character I loved seems to be real.

There was also more great awards given out. But shown here is my favourite.

Thank you- Sarah Webb

I wrote to many an author. Irish and not. But the only reply I got was from Sarah Webb. This is what she said:

Hi Zoe,
I'm so glad you like Amy Green. Kerry is great - I was there 2 weeks ago - Tralee to do some library book events.
I love Clover too - she's so much fun and quite fearless. And Amy is a sweetie too. I also enjoy writing about Seth and Mills, although Mills does get a bit girlie sometimes! Wait till you read book 4 - she goes a bit bonkers over a guy!!!
I like writing about Irish girls as they are so cool and interesting, and I like the fact that girls in American and Poland and England are reading about Irish girls!
Routines - I write every day - mostly till about 2 - then I do the school run and do emails etc.
How did I become a writer? I was bookseller for years and then I decided to write my own book - Kids Can Cook - now I've done lots of books! Was it easy? No! It took ages to get that book published. A career? I became a full time writer 8 years ago - and I've loved every minute of it. But I do other things too - book reviewing, school visits, talking at festivals etc. Being a writer is a brilliant job and I love it. The best bit - meeting and getting emails from readers!
Thanks for your email, Zoe.
Best, Sarah X

How nice was that. I'm definitely going to read some more of her books and I will tell you when I do!

Three cheers for Sarah Webb!

Shoes!

What do women really talk about.

The answer lies here. On a trip down from Dublin a conversation came up about shoes. I decided that I would interview Chloe McDonnell and Orla Diffily.
A mans dreaded conversation. Shoes!

Holes- by Louis Sachar

Holes
I read this book last week I found it quite interesting.

It is an adventure story packed with strange flashbacks, sudden and peculiar twists and a good plot line. Louis Sachar portrays the life of an ordinary boy who's life was mysteriously turned upside down. The novel shows how one boy adapts into the strangest environment. How he makes friends and how he loses them. How he achieved so much, with such little hope. But most of all how he stood up for what he believed in.
It is overall an interesting novel. Although like all books it has a fault. The start of the book isn't interesting, but after that the excitement never ends. It was really action packed. I would recommend it for age groups 10 -14. You have to like adventure or you may think it is a boyish book.
I enjoyed it and I hope you will too.

Update- reviews, reviews , reviews

UPDATE
I am constantly reviewing books, movies, restaurants etc.
But I don't know what you are interested in. If you could give me some ideas on things to review. Please comment on this post and tell me what you want.
Please remember I am an 11 year old girl and I would prefer things more suited to my age group.

Until next time,

Girls guide- how to be best at everything

Girls guide- how to be the best at everything

This book isn't really a reading book.
It is more of a read and put it down book. It gives you tons of things to do that could keep you occupied for hours! All of a girls necessities.

How to explain why you are late for school, How to host the best sleepover, How to deal with bullies, How to win a bet, How to set a World record, How to interpret doodles, How to wrap a present beautifully, How to tidy your room in 15 minutes.

And I could go on. It may seem like I am advertising this series but I just love them so much. They keep you occupied to say the least. Although I can't keep giving this book praise. There are some things featured that could never happen. But it's all fun!

There are also others like these. The Glorious book for girls, The fabulous girls book, what to do with your mother and many more.

I just hope that after you read this you will buy the series and enjoy them as much as I do.
